MIRI – A man who had been infected with Covid-19 has recently died in Miri Hospital.

He became the third patient found having the virus to die in the relatively quiet and placid city, which is now becoming more vigilant and alert against the worldwide pandemic.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee said in a statement that the deceased was a 42-yr old local Sarawakian.

“He had a history of diabetes, high blood pressure and hepatitis A,” the statement said.

“He was admitted to Miri Hospital on January 13 and died on January 14. Tests carried out on him found that he was positive with Covid-19.

“We are still carrying out investigations to accurately determine if his death was due to the Covid-19 virus,” the committee said.

Miri Hospital now has 206 Covid-19 positive patients.

The hospital has issued a notice to the public to stay away unless they need to go for emergencies.
