KUALA LUMPUR – Although the fight against Covid-19 is far from over, residents of all Federal Territories (FT) in Malaysia have been encouraged to fly FT flags on buildings or post them virtually to enliven the FT Day on February 1.
In a statement today, the FT Ministry said its Fly the FT Flag Campaign in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan had commenced simultaneously on Sunday, and will last until February 28.
It added that the campaign aims to boost the spirit of patriotism among the people.
“The public is encouraged to fly the FT flag at business premises, residences, and on vehicles, as well as on social media platforms by using the hashtag #WilayahPersekutuanWilayahPrihatin #kibarbenderaWP #SHWP2021,” the statement said.
The campaign will be celebrated through several programmes, including via digital platforms, and will comply with standard operating procedures outlined by the National Security Council.
There will be new programmes to be held digitally, namely the light show, which will be held on January 28 and February 28, as well as the Federal Territories Exhibition and Icons programme, which is a visual display on the history, establishment and successes of the FTs.
For the light show, residents are encouraged to participate by installing “festive mood” lights at their respective building premises and residences.
The statement said the programmes lined up are a sign of solidarity, and a spirit of goodwill and integration between various races, as well as expressing a sense of love and belonging to the FTs. – Bernama, January 19, 2021
