KOTA KINABALU – As one of the worst-hit states by the Covid-19 pandemic, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor hopes that Sabah's close cooperation with Putrajaya will ensure it is a top beneficiary of the recently announced RM15 billion Perlindungan Ekonomi dan Rakyat Malaysia (Permai) aid.
The Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) leader said the Sabah government will see to it that the state gets priority in all the initiatives and relief packages introduced by the federal government to cushion the economic blow from the pandemic.
"Sabah is one of the worst affected by the pandemic, therefore, the state government will work closely with Putrajaya to ensure it will be prioritised in all its initiatives," he said in a statement today.
The latest RM15 billion Permai relief plan announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was announced two days ago.
Hajiji said while Sabah's recovery from the pandemic will be difficult, the state government will do all it can to lift it out of trouble. – The Vibes, January 20, 2021
