PUTRAJAYA – A total of 400,000 sets of personal protective equipment (PPE) for use by Health Ministry frontliners will be produced by Rukun Tetangga (KRT) areas by end-February, said National Unity Minister Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique.
In a statement today, she said her ministry channelled RM1.55 million to 115 KRT nationwide to produce PPE, including gowns, caps, shoe covers and face shields, in May last year, during the first movement control order to curb Covid-19.
As of January 4, a total of 176,043 PPE sets have been produced by KRT in 13 states, said Halimah.
She added that PPE production will continue, and be based on current needs. – Bernama, January 21, 2021
