KUALA LUMPUR – After the detection of two Covid-19 cases, the Jinjang Utara morning market will be closed from Monday to Wednesday for disinfection and sanitisation work.

Kepong Hawkers and Petty Traders Association vice-chairman Deric Teh said in a statement that two of the fishmongers at the market tested positive for Covid-19.

“We suspect that the patients contracted the virus from Kuala Lumpur wholesale market in Selayang.

“The closure has gotten the approval from the association members and market traders,” he was quoted as saying.

He also urged traders and their workers to get tested for Covid-19 before the market reopens on Thursday. – The Vibes, January 23, 2021
