KUALA LUMPUR – Wanita Umno remains consistent in supporting the party’s stand, including president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s wish for the party to focus on helping people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and floods.

Wanita Umno chief Datuk Seri Noraini Ahmad said the movement’s focus is also on strengthening the party machinery to ensure victory for Umno in the 15th general election.

“At a time when the country has been hit by the Covid-19 pandemic and floods, the people’s needs definitely should be given priority,” she said in a statement today.

Noraini, who is Parit Sulong MP, said as the backbone of the party, Wanita Umno would continue to harness its energy to safeguard the people’s welfare.

She urged all Umno members to close ranks and strengthen the party so that the people could see Umno as a party that truly cares for them in the fight against the pandemic.

“Let’s continue to improve compliance with the standard operating procedure, practise self-discipline to break the Covid-19 chain and reduce the number of positive patients back to zero,” said Noraini, who is also Higher Education Minister. – Bernama, January 24, 2021
