KUALA LUMPUR – Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali will be undergoing mandatory quarantine at home until January 31 after a close contact tested positive for Covid-19.
All his events today, including a media conference that had been slated for 2.30pm, have been indefinitely postponed, said Zuki’s office in a statement.
In a Facebook post, Zuki said the close contact tested positive last Friday.
Following this, he said, the Health Ministry advised him to undergo self-isolation.
He added that his duties will not be affected.
“This situation will not interfere in civil service administrative matters, as I will continue to carry out my duties from home, including for meetings that I am chairing or attending.”
Zuki was supposed to conduct a press conference on the government’s management of the emergency, imposed to curb the spread of Covid-19, at 2.30pm. It was scheduled for a live broadcast on RTM and Bernama TV.
His office, in its statement, said the presser had to be postponed due to “unavoidable reasons”.
