KUALA LUMPUR – Embattled Umno leader Tan Sri Annuar Musa says the party should at least be “part of the winning team” in the next election, despite being in an internal squabble with his cohorts.

The former Barisan Nasional secretary-general took to Facebook today saying that it is “not impossible” for the next general election (GE) to be held before August 1 this year or within 60 days after.

“The most important thing for us Umno members is to ensure Umno wins the GE.

“Therefore, the responsibility of the captains is to steer (us) towards success and not towards destruction... while the sailors continue to row, work hard as a team to bring the party to its destination.”

Annuar, who is Federal Territories minister and Ketereh MP, was removed from the BN post recently for backing political cooperation with the Perikatan Nasional government under Bersatu despite his repeated explanations.

Today, he called on Umno members to not be arrogant, hateful or envious.

“Stay truthful and patient when being slandered. What’s important is that Umno is safe and continues to be loved by the people.” – The Vibes, January 28, 2021
