LABUAN – A local contractor discovered a bomb, believed to be from the World War II era, while cleaning a house compound in Kg Jawa here yesterday.
Labuan acting police chief Mohd Ibrahim Mohd Ghani, in a statement today, said the object, found at 1.39pm, is a UOX Ariel Bomb that is still active.
The investigating officer and Bomb Disposal Unit personnel found the explosive, rusty and covered with mud, to weigh about 35kg.
It measures 0.6m long and has a circumference of 0.3m.
