BUKIT MERTAJAM – Nine individuals, including four teenage girls, rented a room at a luxury hotel in Machang Bubok here last night just to have a wild birthday party.
The individuals, aged between 16 and 24, were arrested by Anti-Vice, Gambling and Secret Societies Division personnel from the state police contingent headquarters at about 12.30 midnight (today), based on intel and a public tip-off regarding the immoral activity.
State Criminal Investigation Department chief Rahimi Mohd Ra’ais said the group had also violated the current movement control order (MCO).
“All of them were taken to the Seberang Prai Tengah district police headquarters for documentation processing and urine tests for further investigation.”
He said each suspect will be issued with a RM1,000 compound for violating the MCO standard operating procedures.
It is understood that the group was throwing a party to celebrate the birthday of one of its members. – Bernama, January 29, 2021
