ARAU – Police detained three men and three women for violating the movement control order (MCO) by gathering and gambling in a house at Kg Rambai Padang Siding here last night.

Arau district police chief Nanda Maarof said all of them were locals, aged between 28 and 61.

“Police also seized gambling tools and RM722 in cash from the suspects,” he told reporters here today.

Nanda said that all the suspects have been taken to the Arau district police headquarters for further investigations.

The case is being investigated under Section 6 (1) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953 and Section 269 of the Penal Code for a negligent act that could spread an infectious disease. – Bernama, February 2, 2021
