JAKARTA – Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today holds a four-eye meeting with Indonesian President Joko Widodo at the presidential palace, Istana Merdeka, here.
The meeting, scheduled to last 40 minutes, started at 10.50am (11.50am Malaysian time), with strict Covid-19 standard operating procedures in place.
Among the issues expected to be discussed are palm oil discrimination, haze, investment and trade, implementation of the Reciprocal Green Lane, and cooperation in addressing the pandemic.
Muhyiddin, who is on a two-day visit to Indonesia, was this morning accorded an official welcome at the palace.
He arrived at 10.30am, and was greeted by Joko, better known as Jokowi.
Muhyiddin then inspected a guard of honour mounted by the Indonesian presidential security force.
He flew into Jakarta yesterday for his first visit to the neighbouring country since his appointment as prime minister on March 1 last year.
Muhyiddin and Joko are expected to hold a joint press conference following their one-on-one meeting. – Bernama, February 5, 2021
