KUALA LUMPUR – Kg Teluk in Sitiawan, Perak, will be placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from tomorrow until February 24, after 16 Covid-19 cases were recorded there.
In a statement today, Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the Health Ministry has screened 43 individuals in the area as of yesterday.
He reported that 589 individuals have been arrested for breaching Covid-19 standard operating procedures.
Of the total, 543 were fined, 42 remanded, and four allowed bail.
The offences recorded are not observing physical distancing (184), not wearing a mask (130), crossing district/state borders without a permit (64), failure to prepare record-keeping equipment for customers (56), premises operating beyond the approved hours/without approval (36), leaving the house without good reason (25), entertainment centre activities (13), passenger overloading (11), breaching quarantine (7) and others (63).
