BUTTERWORTH – A suspected drug pusher was arrested with 3.051kg of ketamine worth RM167,805 during a police raid in Mak Mandin here on Tuesday.

Seberang Prai Utara district police chief Noorzainy Mohd Noor said the raid was carried out by the district police’s Narcotics Crime Investigation Department division at the residence of the 23-year-old about 3pm.

He said police found 116 packets of ketamine, which are believed to supply addicts in Seberang Prai.

"The modus operandi is simple. The suspect will make the delivery after receiving the ketamine order via phone call.

“Cash amounting to RM3,000, and two cars – a Kia Sportage and a Perodua Myvi – belonging to the suspect were also seized, making the total confiscation value worth RM62,000.

"A check found that the suspect had a previous criminal record, and he had tested positive for the same drug after a urine test," Noorzainy told a press conference today.

The suspect is being remanded for a week and the case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act (ADB) 1952 and Section (15) (1) (a) of the same Act.

Meanwhile, Noorzainy also said a 36-year-old drug dealer was arrested in Sg Dua early this morning.

“We confiscated 11 packets of syabu weighing 30g estimated to be worth RM3,000.

"The suspect, who has a previous drug record, was remanded to assist in the investigation." – The Vibes, February 11, 2021
