KUALA LUMPUR – Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has shut down 18 premises, comprising hotels and massage parlours, over prostitution activities since the start of the year.
Enforcement department director Osman Ismail, in a statement today, said the action was conducted under the Local Government Act 1976 and Licensing of Trades, Businesses and Industries By-Law 2016, as well as in accordance with DBKL and police’s jurisdiction and standard operating procedures.
“The closure of the three hotels and 15 massage centres also saw three notices issued under the Hotel Act, 15 compound notices, as well as the seizure of 287 types of goods.”
He said complaints on prostitution activities can be filed via the DBKL website. – Bernama, February 12, 2021
