SEBERANG PRAI – To reduce the spread of Covid-19 infections, the Seberang Prai City Council (MBSP) has launched its “Scan, Park, & Pay” initiative to expedite and simplify transactions and other related matters between the council and the people.
State Housing, Local Government and Town and Country Planning Committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo said the smart initiative is an effort by MBSP to both reduce the spread of Covid-19 and beef up the state’s larger initiative to become an internationally recognised “smart state” in the future.
“I would like to congratulate MBSP for continually caring for the people during this situation, and facilitating the people’s affairs with the council.
“It is hoped that the people of Seberang Prai will take note of this smart initiative and use the services to combat the spread of Covid-19,” he told reporters here today.
The initiative’s launch at MBSP was also broadcast live on the council’s and Jagdeep’s Facebook pages.
Meanwhile, Seberang Prai Mayor Datuk Rozali Mohamud said MBSP carries out disinfection rounds every day, between nine and 18 times at the state’s most frequented places.
He said the MBSP central counter is visited by almost 650 customers everyday, especially in view of the assessment tax payment deadline on February 28.
“Besides that, the public can also make other transactions such as compound payments, license applications, and other counter services.
“To make it easier for people to deal online, MBSP has set up an ‘Ask Me Team’ consisting of six staff who will help the public learn about online business hands on,” he said. – The Vibes, February 16, 2021
