KUALA LUMPUR – Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob today sidestepped the media when asked about the outcome of the party’s four-hour Supreme Council meeting last night in Janda Baik, Pahang.
“Oh there was a (supreme council) meeting last night? Ask the (Umno) secretary general… I don’t want to take his place (answer on his behalf),” he told Utusan Online after visiting Rumah Keluarga Angkatan Tentera (RKAT), Markas 1 Briged in Kem Sikamat, Seremban.
It was reported yesterday that the Umno Supreme Council numbering some 40 leaders had convened in Janda Baik for a meeting to deliberate on the party’s ongoing and future partnership with Bersatu.
The meeting was said to be chaired by Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and among the meeting’s agenda was to include the party’s demands for a deputy prime minister and finance minister positions.
It was also reported that the meeting was held to discuss the status of the current political cooperation with Bersatu. – The Vibes, February 20, 2021
