KUALA LUMPUR – The 2020 Umno general assembly will be held on March 27 and 28, said party secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan.
In a statement today, he said the Supreme Council has decided for the gathering to be a combination of in-person meetings and those held via videoconference.
“All standard operating procedures under the movement control order (MCO), conditional MCO and recovery MCO will be observed.”
He previously announced that the assembly, originally slated for January 30 and 31, would be postponed due to the MCO and implementation of a nationwide emergency to contain Covid-19.
Ahmad added that various activities, including poetry writing, short video and logo design competitions, have been planned for the party’s 75th anniversary on May 11. – Bernama, February 23, 2021
