KUALA LUMPUR – National carrier Malaysia Airlines Bhd (MAB) plans to introduce a digital travel health pass to ensure safe journeys in a post-pandemic era.
In a statement today, it said the health pass will integrate modules from the International Air Transport Association’s travel pass, enabling passengers to create a digital passport on the MAB mobile app.
“This digital identification will pave the way for MAB passengers to take advantage of contactless technology options throughout the travel process.
“Passengers can easily make appointments with certified medical partners to undergo a Covid-19 RT-PCR test, or include their Covid-19 vaccination certificate (on the app), making the process more straightforward.”
The health pass will verify carriers’ Covid-19 testing or vaccination status, with the information shared with the relevant authorities.
The flag carrier said more details will be made known soon. – Bernama, February 24, 2021
