GEORGE TOWN – The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine may have arrived in Penang but the state continues to struggle with the rate of Covid-19 infection.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said that Covid-19 cases in Penang’ were still at three digits with 14 active clusters statewide.
Out of this, seven are related to the manufacturing sector.
Chow urged the people of Penang to adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to fight the virus head-on, as it was apparent that the virus remained mired within the community.
On Sunday, Chow will become the first Penang resident to be vaccinated, followed by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Ahmad Zakiyuddin Abdul Rahman and Deputy Chief Minister II Dr P. Ramasamy as well as other senior state officials. – The Vibes, February 26, 2021
