KUALA LUMPUR – Cybertroopers have been attacking my Facebook account, disparaging and distorting my comments, said Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi amid the party’s fraying ties with Bersatu.
In a Facebook post today, he said he called on the Umno and Barisan Nasional machinery, members and supporters a few days ago to go “all out” on social media.
“Mungkin sebab makan cili rasa pedas, or perhaps, they (cybertroopers) received instructions to do so.
“This means they are confused by the call.”
He said the “Kluster Fitnah” (slander cluster) are worried that the people will know the truth.
The “Kluster Kuasa” (power cluster) is concerned that its leader will lose his position once Malaysians realise that Umno and BN remain their best choice, he said.
“The Kluster Cari Makan (rent-seeking cluster) is scared that with Umno/BN’s strength, those in the cluster will end up with nothing.”
In what can be interpreted as a swipe at Bersatu, Zahid urged Umno and BN supporters and members to focus on the coalition’s agenda.
“It is never too late.”
The unravelling of Umno-Bersatu ties has resulted in a war of words between the two, with the BN lynchpin making it clear that the parties’ political cooperation will end once Parliament is dissolved to make for a general election.
Bersatu yesterday said it will look to strengthen its cooperation with other Perikatan Nasional allies – PAS, Sabah Star, SAPP and Gerakan – to face the 15th general election. – The Vibes, March 5, 2021
