SANDAKAN – Bersatu vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee welcomes Sabah Umno’s decision to continue working with Bersatu through Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).
He said the state election last year reflected the wishes of the people of Sabah to see a united political front and stability.
“Our country needs stable and firm politics to handle bigger issues like the economy and development of the nation.
“The people have placed their hope in our political approach, which promises political stability for the future of the country,” he said in a statement.
Kiandee, who is Beluran MP and agriculture and food industries minister, said this following Sabah Umno chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin’s statement that Sabah Umno would continue its collaboration with Bersatu and other parties in GRS.
Yesterday, Chief Minister-cum-Sabah Bersatu chief Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the relationship between Umno and his party in the state remains unaffected by the feud at federal level.
“I think Sabah Umno’s stand should be mirrored at the national level, which guarantees political stability in the coming general election,” said Kiandee.
“Cooperation between parties in Perikatan Nasional should be the core of a new political alignment in this country,” he added. – The Vibes, March 7, 2021
