KOTA KINABALU – Sabah DAP said it remains committed to the Warisan Plus coalition, following reports that the chapter may contest using its own party logo in the next general election.

Secretary-general Chan Foong Hin, in a statement today, said the state DAP is committed to upholding unity and mutual cooperation among Warisan Plus components.

“We all agree that the answer to that is to stay united. Unity is the value that has to be upheld by all parties within the Warisan Plus political coalition.

“Among the issues discussed during the meeting was how to make Warisan Plus a more structured coalition.”

The statement follows a meeting of Warisan Plus party secretaries, namely those from the state chapters of DAP, PKR and Amanah, as well as United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation.

The state DAP contested using the Warisan logo in last September’s state election, while the state PKR used its own party logo.

Chan said Sabah DAP is committed to alliance-building in preparation for the 15th general election, which many speculate may be called soon even though it is not due until September 2023.

He added that the relationship between Warisan Plus members is intact. – The Vibes, March 9, 2021
