KUALA LUMPUR – The enhanced movement control order (EMCO) imposed on Tapah Prison and its staff quarters in Perak will be extended to March 29.
The order was supposed to expire on March 15 but there are 562 Covid-19 test samples still awaiting results.
So far, of the 2,660 samples taken, 556 have tested positive, said Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob in a statement today.
Meanwhile, the EMCO at Imperial Garments hostel in Kinta, Perak, will be lifted tomorrow.
Of the 619 screenings conducted, 389 tested positive. As of today, there are no new cases and the cluster is under control.
Ismail said that 223 individuals were detained yesterday for violating standard operating procedures.
Some 216 have been issued with compounds while seven have been remanded.
Among the violations recorded are failure to provide tools to record customer details (70), not wearing face masks (55), unapproved interstate/inter-district travel (47), lack of physical distancing (24), activities related to entertainment centres (17), and others (10). – The Vibes, March 13, 2021
