KUALA LUMPUR – Perak and most parts of Kedah and Negri Sembilan will no longer be under the conditional movement control order (CMCO), observing the recovery MCO (RMCO) instead from March 19 to 31.
Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob today said the directive excludes Kuala Muda and Kulim districts in Kedah, and Seremban in Negri Sembilan.
The RMCO in four states and two Federal Territories that was scheduled to end on March 18 has been extended to March 31. These areas are Perlis, Pahang, Terengganu, Sabah, Labuan and Putrajaya.
Ismail Sabri said inter-district travel is allowed for all states except Sabah and Sarawak.
“However, crossing state lines is still not allowed, unless it is for the purpose of tourism from one RMCO area to another RMCO area, based on the green travel bubble concept using tourism companies and agents registered with Motac (Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry).”
He said universities are allowed to prevent students from leaving campus to ensure the safety of all those living on its premises.
“Universities are private grounds and have their own bylaws, like some condominiums in Kuala Lumpur that don’t allow visitors. That falls under the purview of the management,” he said in response to a question on the matter.
