KOTA KINABALU – Sabah has allowed buffets at all hotels and accommodations with in-house restaurants during the recovery movement control order period with strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
State Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the SOPs include customer registration via the MySejahtera or Sabah Trace apps or a notebook, as well as ensuring they scan their body temperatures and wear face masks while taking food.
“Every hotel and restaurant must provide sanitisers or plastic gloves for customers after using the serving spoons in turn.
“While queuing at the counter, all customers must comply with physical distancing.”
Masidi said cafes and restaurants within the premises are also allowed to operate – including offering deliveries and room services, and receiving guests in groups – subject to the restaurant’s capacity, but warned that practising physical distancing is a must.
Dining could be done in intervals or according to a schedule to avoid congestion, he added. – Bernama, March 17, 2021
