IPOH – 300 members of the Ipoh Barat PKR branch have quit the party and joined Gerakan.

Perak Gerakan chairman Datuk See Tean Seng said they quit PKR a year ago and now officially joined Gerakan after receiving the membership application form.

“Thus far, a total of 300 former PKR members from Ipoh Barat division have expressed their desire to join us. Of that number, about 50 membership forms were completed and submitted. There are also applications that are still under review.

“We accept their application and will provide information on our struggle,” he said in a press conference at Wisma Gerakan in Ipoh today.

Meanwhile, a representative of former PKR members, Alfaizal Shahul Hamid, 44, said they made the decision due to frequent power struggles in the PKR leadership, as well as what he said was the sidelining of the public’s interests since the 14th general election.

“Their struggles are only for themselves and not for the people. Therefore, I joined other members and quit the party,” he said in the same press conference. – Bernama, March 24, 2021
