PUTRAJAYA – National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) statistics have shown that 68% of Malaysians want to get vaccinated against Covid-19, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Special Functions) Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof.
According to Nadma data, he said, only 16% of citizens are still unsure about receiving the jab.
“Our target is to get 80% of the people vaccinated. As such, information disseminated on the vaccination programme should be accurate so as to not create suspicion among the people. We seek all parties’ cooperation to ensure the programme’s success.
“The correct information should be shared to instil confidence in Malaysians to receive the vaccine,” he told reporters after chairing a special Nadma committee meeting here today.
He said the public should not worry about the vaccines used under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme, as they have been approved by the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency.
“Each individual should cooperate with the government and get the shot… there is no need to choose which vaccine, and the people should take it when it becomes available.”
He said the Covid-19 Eradication Agency (ABC-19), comprising volunteers, will be set up to encourage and assist the rakyat to register for vaccination.
District Disaster Management Committees have been told to activate control centres for the mobilisation of ABC-19’s operations, he added.
