BAU – The body of a 25-year-old gold miner trapped in a cave at Gunung Tabai in Jalan Taiton here this week was removed yesterday evening.

Bau fire chief Tawang Lingem said Martin @ Mat Tapa’s remains were retrieved from the rubble about 4pm in the third day of operations, and brought out of the tunnel at 6.22pm.

He said the body was handed to police, after which it was sent to Bau Hospital for a post-mortem.

He expressed relief that the high-risk operation was completed without untoward incidents to personnel.
