KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia logged 2,331 Covid-19 infections today – a decrease from yesterday’s 2,551 – with Selangor accounting for the most cases at 751.
The latest tally takes the country’s overall caseload to 372,859, reported the Health Ministry.
The nation also registered five deaths, with all deceased persons comprising locals.
According to the ministry, 225 cases are in intensive care, while 92 require intubation.
Behind Selangor is Sarawak with 512 infections, followed by Kuala Lumpur (252), Kelantan (225), Sabah (163), Penang (116) and Johor (100).
States with cases in the double digits are Negri Sembilan (89), Kedah (45), Perak (42) and Pahang (20).
Melaka has nine infections, while Putrajaya has four, Labuan (2) and Perlis (1).
Terengganu has no new case.
As for clusters, the ministry said 347 remain active, including eight new ones today.
The Jalan Ding Lik Kwong, Jalan Damai Tawau, Bukit Quoin and Jalan Wawasan Lima clusters all concern worksites.
The Ulu Balingian, Jalan Disa and Jalan Maktab clusters are from educational institutions, while the Seri Kuantan cluster in Pahang is from the community. – The Vibes, April 17, 2021
