KLANG – The magistrates’ court here has issued a five-day remand order on an employer who beat up his two bodyguards for fasting.
The remand order, which starts today, on the 44-year-old suspect was issued to assist investigation under Sections 324 for causing injury, 506 for criminal intimidation, 298 for insulting Islam and 307 for attempted murder under the Penal Code.
The businessman, escorted by officers, arrived at the court compound at about 10am.
On Thursday, he was picked up by police at 8.20pm in Kuala Lumpur for beating up his bodyguards.
On the same day, the court issued a remand order on four individuals, including a personal bodyguard, to assist investigation into the beating of the two workers by the employer for fasting.
It was reported that the two victims were beaten on their backs using a cane.
Police said the employer took a pistol from one of the victims and pointed it at them, while threatening and insulting them. – Bernama, April 18, 2021
