KUALA LUMPUR – The movement control order (MCO) will be imposed on Mukim Endau and Mukim Triang in Mersing, Johor, from tomorrow until May 3, said Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The senior minister, in a statement, said the decision was made due to the spread of Covid-19 in the Kg Air Batang cluster involving both localities.
“The Health Ministry has conducted 437 screenings, of which 69 returned positive results, with 25 of them active cases. There are 29 samples awaiting results.”
He said the enhanced MCO in Kg Murni C in Nabawan, Sabah, will end as scheduled tomorrow.
Ismail Sabri said 196 individuals were arrested yesterday for breaching movement curbs, of whom 191 were issued compounds and five remanded.
Most of the cases – 119 – are for failing to observe social distancing, followed by failure to wear a mask (21), failure to check in using MySejahtera or through other means (15), entertainment activities (13) and other offences (28).
