PORT DICKSON – Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob today described as baseless allegations by certain quarters that the Health Ministry is manipulating Covid-19 infection figures.

The ministry receives daily virus reports from all states’ Health Departments, he said after a breaking-of-fast event with army personnel here tonight.

“I don’t know where they receive such information (on data manipulation). The ministry releases the number of daily cases every day as of noon, with the figures provided by each state.”

Malaysia is not the only country reporting a surge in infections, he said, adding that several European nations have reimposed lockdowns. – Bernama, April 19, 2021
