SHAH ALAM – A total of 19 schools in the state have been ordered to close starting today due to the emergence of a Covid-19 cluster, said the Petaling Health Office.
The schools are SMK Bukit Jelutong, SMK Damansara Jaya, SMK Bandar Sri Damansara 2, SMK Seksyen 7, SMK Seksyen 20, SMK USJ 23, SMK Puchong, SMK Puchong Utama 1, SMK Seksyen 4 Bandar Kinrara, SMK Bandar Puncak Jalil and SMK Puchong Perdana.
SK Puchong Perdana, SK Bandar Baru Sri Damansara 2, SK Bandar Sri Damansara 3, SK Bukit Kuchai, SK Bukit Jelutong, SK USJ 20, as well as Sekolah Agama Menengah Bestari Subang and Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina Yuk Chai are also ordered to close.
The health office in a statement said the closures are to allow sanitisation at the schools and screening for close contacts to be conducted.
“All close contacts must be present to undergo swab tests or be given quarantine letters.”
Announcement on the reopening of the schools will be made two days prior, it said, adding that each school must ensure that all close contacts to Covid-19 cases are quarantined. – Bernama, April 20, 2021
