MIRI – Sarawak today logged 474 Covid-19 infections and another death, bringing the total death toll to 146, according to the state Disaster Management Committee (DMC) secretariat.

The victim was an 80-year-old man in Kapit Hospital.

Bintulu district recorded the most new cases (103), followed by Sibu (84), Miri (46), Kuching (35), Mambong (36), Song (35), Kapit (34), Mukah (24), Serian (24), Saratok (13), Pakan (11), and several districts (fewer than 10 cases each).

The secretariat said there was one new cluster: the Ikom cluster recorded in Kuching city, where those involved attended a dinner. Sarawak has 54 active clusters.

Two settlements have been placed under the enhanced movement control order today to curb rising infections. Kg Rayang in Serian district and Kg Sileng in Lundu district will both see a two-week lockdown starting today. – The Vibes, April 22, 2021
