KUALA LUMPUR – SM Sains Banting in Kuala Langat, Selangor, will be placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from tomorrow until May 7, said Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He told a press conference here today that the Health Ministry has conducted 472 Covid-19 tests there, with 71 students returning positive results.
“The ministry confirmed that the infectivity rate in the locality is still high.”
Ismail Sabri said the MCO in Sabah’s Lahad Datu, which had been due to end tomorrow, is extended to May 8 following a surge in coronavirus infections.
He said the EMCO imposed on Mukah Polytechnic and the Jalan Bukut longhouse in Balingian, Mukah, Sarawak, as well as Kg Muhibbah Raya in Tawau, Sabah, is also extended to May 8.
“At the Mukah Polytechnic, 241 Covid-19 cases were detected out of the 1,703 people screened, while at the Jalan Bukut longhouse, there were 96 infections detected out of 349 tests conducted.
“In Kg Muhibbah Raya, there were 70 cases out of the 622 tests carried out.”
He said the EMCO in Kg Bukit Belacon, Segama in Lahad Datu will end tomorrow as scheduled. – Bernama, April 23, 2021
