KUALA LUMPUR – Police have arrested a local couple to facilitate investigations into the death of a 9-month-old boy on Tuesday.
Petaling Jaya police chief Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid, in a statement yesterday, said it was reported that an individual took the unconscious infant to a government hospital in Selangor for treatment about 7pm that day.
“The autopsy results showed bruises on the baby’s mouth, and injuries to the anus.
“Acting on witness testimonies, police arrested the couple, both 35, who were the child’s minders, at an apartment in Jalan PJU 1A/42, Kelana Jaya here (on Thursday).”
He said the male suspect has two prior drug records.
The couple have been remanded for seven days, and the probe is being conducted under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. – Bernama, May 1, 2021
