SANDAKAN – A policeman was found hanged a few hours after sahur with his family in Sandakan this morning.

The 28-year-old’s wife, said to be from the peninsula, found the body in their living room at 7.30am.

Sabah police chief Datuk Hazani Ghazali said the lance corporal was attached to the Sandakan marine police team.

He said investigations are underway, and the policeman had a good work record besides having no issues with his colleagues or superiors.

“We heard that he had just celebrated his 3-year-old child’s birthday,” he said.

“Several hours before his death, the victim had sahur with his family.”

The body has been sent to the Duchess of Kent Hospital for post-mortem.
