KUALA LUMPUR – There are no more districts in the peninsula categorised as Covid-19 green zones as of yesterday, with Penang, Selangor, Melaka, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya having only red zones, said the Health Ministry in a Facebook post today.
Data on the distribution of coronavirus cases by district in the peninsula from May 5 to 18 shows 57,089 infections.
“Eight districts in the peninsula are categorised as ‘orange’, namely Langkawi, Kampar, Jelebu, Kuala Pilah, Rompin, Bera, Lipis and Marang, while the districts with ‘yellow’ status are Kangar, Perak Tengah, Mersing, Cameron Highlands, Maran, Hulu Terengganu, Kemaman, Gua Musang, Padang Terap and Sik,” said the ministry.
Sabah has the most green zones, namely Tambunan, Kudat, Nabawan, Pitas, Kuala Penyu, Tongod, Telupid and Beluran districts.
There are five in Sarawak, namely Simunjan, Asajaya, Kabong, Marudi and Telang Usan.
Green zones have zero Covid-19 cases, yellow (1 to 20), orange (21 to 40) and red (41 and above). – Bernama, May 19, 2021
