KOTA KINABALU – As the flood situation at Tenom in the southwestern interior of Sabah worsens, the number of flood victims evacuated to temporary relief centres has doubled.

From the 2,300 victims at 4pm yesterday, the number has risen to 4,147 at the same time today.

They include a total of 1,169 families in Tenom and 147 families in Beaufort who are currently staying in relief centres.

Meanwhile, Sabah Health director Datuk Dr Christina Rundi said that the Covid-19 vaccination programme in the two districts has been suspended due to the serious flood situation.

Rundi was quoted in the Daily Express online news portal as saying that the programme will resume once the situation returns to normal. – The Vibes, May 22, 2021
