KOTA KINABALU – Another temporary flood relief centre has been set up in worst-hit Tenom, bringing the total number of active centres to 37.
The centres are housing 5,553 victims from 1,478 families involving 47 villages in Tenom.
The state Disaster Management Committee (DMC) in a statement said the new relief centre in Skim Kuala Tomani Cultural House now houses 615 flood victims from 120 families.
Meanwhile in Beaufort, the flood situation has improved, with four temporary relief centres operating housing 603 flood victims (155 families) from 47 villages in the district.
The number of evacuees at relief centres in Sabah now stands at 6,156.
