JOHOR BARU – The bed occupancy rate has reached 91% at the Covid-19 quarantine and low-risk treatment centre at the Pasir Gudang Indoor Stadium here.
The centre’s operations room in a statement today said the percentage comprises 952 patients from Categories 1 and 2, who are asymptomatic and low-risk individuals.
“Another centre will be opened to accommodate the increasing number of Covid-19 patients in Johor. The matter will be informed by the state government.
“Patients who undergo quarantine at the centre must obey the time set by the Covid-19 assessment centre to facilitate registration and directives issued from time to time.”

The indoor stadium has been operating as a quarantine centre since February 10, and is the first such centre in Johor.
As of yesterday, 5,978 Covid-19 patients have received treatment there.
Johor has two such centres, namely at the Pasir Gudang Indoor Stadium, which is equipped with 1,043 beds, and a private centre at DB Complex in Iskandar Puteri, which has 395 beds.
The state recorded 664 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, bringing the statewide caseload to 55,095, with 231 deaths. – Bernama, May 26, 2021
