Sarawak DMC to hold presser at 5pm as state sees virus surge

MIRI – The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee has called an urgent press conference at 5pm today.

Chairman Datuk Douglas Uggah Embas, who is also deputy chief minister, will address the media in Kuching, said the committee in a brief statement.

This comes as the state logged 772 new Covid-19 infections.

There have been calls for a full-scale movement control order to arrest rising cases and fatalities.

The state has lost 263 lives to the coronavirus and registered over 40,000 infections. – The Vibes, May 27, 2021
