JOHOR BARU – An additional RM2.8 million will be given to all 56 assemblymen in Johor to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.
Menteri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad said the views and involvement of all parties, including elected representatives, are much welcome to ensure the state’s prosperity.
“I hope for the involvement of all Johor MPs and assemblymen in advocacy programmes and to help disseminate accurate information related to the government’s efforts to address the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said in a statement today.
He said the state government is also planning to introduce another economic stimulus package.
To ensure the vaccination campaign is implemented quickly, safely and effectively, he said, the state government has taken several approaches, including working closely with the Health, and Science, Technology and Innovation Ministries, as well as other parties, to secure its own supply of vaccines.
This includes a possible purchase from Singapore.
Hasni said under the Johor ImmuPlan initiative, the state government is trying to obtain another 100,000 vaccine doses for economic frontliners.
RM10 million has also been set aside for food baskets, he said. – Bernama, May 27, 2021
