MIRI – Sarawak PKR has denied involvement in two videos allegedly insulting Sarawak government leaders and the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
State PKR information chief Abun Sui said his party is not responsible for the videos posted by Iswardy Morni that are being circulated on social media.
“Sarawak PKR is not behind these two videos that allegedly criticise Sarawak state leaders and the king. We have never authorised Iswardy to make any videos or issue any statements on our behalf. Whatever he said are his own remarks,” said Abun in a statement today.
“Yes, he is a Sarawakian and a member of Sarawak PKR. But he is not in a position to speak on behalf of Sarawak PKR and we never asked him to speak on behalf of Sarawak PKR.”
Abun said some state leaders are using the videos to link PKR as being anti-government.
“These videos are already being investigated by the police, so it is better not to talk about the topics raised.”
Although, he said, Sarawak PKR is concerned about the way the Covid-19 crisis is escalating in Sarawak and the rest of the country, the party will not use social media platforms to simply criticise and condemn. – The Vibes, May 30, 2021
