KUALA LUMPUR – Only two people from each household are allowed out to get essential items, medicine and food, said Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob ahead of the lockdown starting Tuesday until June 14.
For medical treatment or emergencies, a maximum of three people per household, including the patient, are allowed out, but cannot travel outside a 10km radius.
If there are none within the 10km radius, they are allowed to head to the nearest medical facility.
Meanwhile, only two are allowed in each taxi or e-hailing service, including the driver, and the sole passenger must be in the back seat.
He said public land and sea transport such as worker transportation, stop-and-go buses, express buses, LRT, MRT, ERL, monorail, ferries and others are allowed to run at 50% passenger capacity.
The operation hours and frequency will be decided by the Transport Ministry.
The government has reduced the public service to 20% while the rest are allowed to work from home, excluding frontliners, and security and defence forces.
However, the private sector is allowed to have operation and management workers up to 60% capacity of their premises.
Businesses that are allowed during lockdown will remain open between 8am and 8pm.
The exceptions are:
– Daily markets (6am-2pm)
– Regulated fresh markets (7am-12pm)
– Permanent farmers markets, MyFarm outlets and farmers’ complexes (6am-4pm)
– Wholesale markets (12.01am-6am, and 11am-4pm)
– Petrol stations (6am-8pm, except for those located along highways that are allowed to open 24 hours)
– Public and private kindergartens and nurseries as well as learning enrichment centres for children aged four to 6 are not allowed. The exception is for those catering to parents who are frontliners and where both parents have to work.
– Prayers at mosques and surau are limited to a maximum of 12 committee members. Other activities are prohibited.
– Akad nikah are allowed only at the religious affairs office or department with regulations set by the respective state Islamic authorities
– Non-Islamic religious activities are limited to 12 committee members for each premises and members of the public are not allowed in.
– Only jogging and exercises in outdoor areas are allowed provided a physical distance of 2m to 3m is observed.
