KOTA KINABALU – Travelling between Kota Kinabalu, Putatan and Penampang will be restricted from tomorrow as it is regarded as inter-district travel.
These three localities had been placed under one district previously, but this classification has been removed after they recorded a total of 70 new Covid-19 cases today.
Sabah Covid-19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the restriction is aimed at reducing public movement, except in the case of providers of essential goods and services.
“Stricter control on these three districts will be done from tomorrow onwards.”
Sabah recorded 305 new Covid-19 cases today, an increase of 46 from 259 yesterday.
Of the total, Kota Kinabalu logged 41 infections, Penampang (20) and Putatan (9).
The three districts are the most populated in the state, with many traveling to and from them for work daily.
Operating hours for all businesses, including deliveries, are allowed during the lockdown, but have been limited to between 9am and 6pm. However, markets are allowed to operate only from 9am to 3pm. – The Vibes, June 6, 2021
