KUALA LUMPUR – Now convenience stores and grocery shops are free to sell all types of goods after certain shelves were cordoned off at the start of the lockdown on June 1.
This comes after National Security Council director-general Datuk Mohd Rabin Basir’s interview with Sin Chew Daily.
Recently, social media users have been sharing photos questioning the logic behind the directive issued by the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry in its standard operating procedures (SOP).
Earlier, the ministry had prohibited the sale of “non-essential” goods.
Rabin was quoted as saying that stores compounded for not cordoning their non-essential sections will be looked into on a case-by-case basis.
He added that Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob will clarify the matter today. – The Vibes, June 7, 2021
