KUALA LUMPUR – Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has announced that Kg Padang Che Mas in Baling, Kedah, will be placed under the conditional movement control order (CMCO) starting Sunday.

“Twenty-five Covid-19 cases involving five families have been detected in that region,” he said in his daily update on coronavirus-related security issues today.

“Given this, the National Security Council decided that the area will be put under the CMCO from October 18 until 31.”

The move will affect some 1,150 residents.

On the 1 Utama shopping complex in Petaling Jaya, where a cluster has been detected, Ismail Sabri said the mall will be allowed to operate starting tomorrow.

“Up until October 15, 6,000 people, including workers, premise owners and 110 visitors, have been screened.

“Those who were found positive have been sent to hospital, and those who were in close contact with patients have been ordered to quarantine themselves.”

He said mall employees and tenants will be allowed to enter the building today to prepare for the reopening.

Of the 6,000 tested, 20 staff of stores in the mall and a management employee returned positive results, said 1 Utama. – The Vibes, October 16, 2020
