KOTA KINABALU – Sabah has decided to extend the movement control order which was supposed to end on June 14 to June 28 in view of the still high Covid-19 cases.
Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the decision came after an evaluation of the pandemic situation in the state.
“The state government decided to extend the movement control order (MCO 3.0) until June 28 after a meeting held by the state Disaster Management Committee for Covid-19 on the situation in the state.
“This decision was taken as a step to curb the rising infection in Sabah,” he said in a statement today.
Yesterday, the National Security Council announced that the MCO 3.0, which was supposed to end June 14, will be extended to June 28.
Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the extension was done after taking into account the high daily Covid-19 infections which has surpassed the 5,000-mark. – The Vibes, June 12, 2021
